Law, QA, and Life as a Flow Ninja PM: Milica’s Unexpected Leap

Milica is a Project Manager at Flow Ninja, but her professional path started in an entirely different place – law school.

Milica grew up surrounded by the world of law, inspired by her parents, both dedicated legal professionals. 

“Naturally, I envisioned myself following in their footsteps, but my enthusiasm waned during law school as I grew disillusioned with the system,” claims Milica.

She realized that the reality of law often strayed far from the ideal of justice for all, leading her to rethink her path entirely.

Encouraged by her brother-in-law, an IT professional, Milica decided to take a leap into the world of technology after graduating from the law school. She applied to IT Bootcamp, a well-known program in Serbia designed to help people transition into tech careers, and was thrilled to be admitted. 

She completed the entire course, laying the foundation for her new professional journey.

Milica and Flow Ninja: The Right Choice

Johnny, a Flow Ninja team member who knew Milica, reached out to let her know about an open QA position at the company. 

Excited, Milica applied and got the job, but at the same time, she received an offer from a bigger corporation in Niš for a similar role. 

Reflecting on her decision, Milica shared, “I thought a lot about the two offers, but in the end, I chose the smaller business because it felt so much more welcoming and friendly—and I haven’t regretted a single second of that choice.”

How’s It Going at Flow Ninja, Milica?

Milica’s professional path at Flow Ninja continued to evolve when Tamara, the company’s current COO and then-project manager, recognized her exceptional work ethic and organizational skills. 

‍Tamara invited Milica to transition into a Project Manager role, which she embraced wholeheartedly and has been excelling in ever since. 

In 2023, Milica became pregnant with a baby boy and went on maternity leave. After welcoming her son into the world, she returned to work in 2024, balancing her role as a dedicated mom and an outstanding PM.

“I feel like my colleagues are always there to help, which makes me feel so safe and welcome. I truly enjoy the supportive and friendly environment we have at work—it’s something special.”

Milica has plenty of great memories from her time at Flow Ninja, but her favorite one is the agency’s anniversary celebration at a local kafana. Despite only being with the team for two months at the time, she could truly feel the great atmosphere and really felt like a part of the team.

A Round of Rapid-Fire Questions for Milica

We asked Milica a couple of questions.

What is your favorite remote work location?

I’m definitely an office type of person and try to work from the office whenever I can—that’s when I’m most productive, and it leaves me more time after work to spend with family and friends. But if I have to pick, I’d definitely choose a mountain. I love mountain nature and forests, and I’d highly recommend Zlatibor or Tara for anyone looking for a beautiful escape.”

Can you recommend a movie or a TV show?

I don’t have much time these days with a little one to take care of, but I recently managed to watch Lupin. It’s an amazing show about a modern-day Robin Hood—a clever and charismatic man who bends the rules and breaks the law, but always in the name of a greater good.

Can you recommend a book?

I have a passion for reading and collecting books, and one of my recent reads is Master and Margarita, a Russian classic I decided to revisit. I’m thoroughly enjoying how the relationships in the story are depicted—they’re timeless and resonate with every era.

Can you recommend a travel destination?

For three years, my husband and I explored the country on a motorbike, uncovering hidden gems along the way. Of all the places we visited, Tara stands out as my absolute favorite—its breathtaking nature and stunning landscapes make it truly unforgettable.
